The Center for Engaged Compassion (CEC) teaches people how to form lives of wise, skillful, active compassion for the repair of the world.

The Center has developed unique processes of “engaged compassion” that transform the desire to help others into practical actions that repair the world. The Center teaches concrete, learnable practices, skills, and perspectives that give individuals, groups, communities, organizations, and even governments the capabilities and sensibilities for creating genuine peace, healing, and reconciliation through the formation of engaged compassion.

The Center for Engaged Compassion offers retreats, immersion experiences, contemplative prayer gatherings, research in neuroscience and contemplative practice, art festivals, storytelling events, scholarly conferences, reconciliation workshops, opportunities for community activism, and (as part of the curricula of Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Lincoln University) accredited courses, certificates, and degrees. Through these and other offerings, the Center forms lives of engaged compassion.
